Qualifications

• Seven years' experience adjudicating construction defect claims with exposure of $100,000 or more.
• Bachelor's degree required; two or more insurance designations or four extra years of related experience may substitute for a degree.
• Licenses in multiple jurisdictions; ability to obtain additional licenses within 3 months of hire.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• Strong negotiation and claims-reserving knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office; fluent in reading/writing English.

Responsibilities

• Adjudicate construction defect claims at high authority limits with technical complexity.
• Gather, analyze, and investigate information to resolve issues.
• Report trends to senior management and underwriters.
• Analyze claims forms, policies, endorsements, and client instructions for coverage.
• Investigate promptly, interviewing involved parties.
• Manage claims in litigation.
• Set reserves considering policy wordings.
• Identify loss drivers and trends via data analysis.
• Coordinate expertise resources for case resolution.
• Prepare reports for file documentation.
• Negotiate complex settlements within scope of authority.
• Process mail and prioritize workload.
• Communicate with insureds and claimants; maintain strong claim management.
