Job summary
The Indiana Department Of Transportation (INDOT) is seeking a Construction Area Engineer for the Seymour District. You will act as SME and liaison for construction and maintenance divisions, overseeing projects from preliminary checks to final records, balancing high-level oversight with direct team leadership.
This exempt, full-time role requires licensure in Indiana, strong civil/transportation knowledge, and a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer license in Indiana required.
- Must possess a valid Indiana driver’s license.
- Broad knowledge of civil/transportation disciplines, policies, and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications.
- Experience with CAD, spreadsheets, databases, and scheduling.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee engineering projects from conception to final construction records.
- Provide supervision and direction to a multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure projects meet plans, specifications, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including government officials, consultants, and contractors.
