Job summary

Indiana Department Of Transportation (INDOT) Crawfordsville District is seeking a skilled construction project manager to lead highway projects from planning through execution. You will develop comprehensive plans, direct inspectors, and ensure work aligns with plans, schedules, and budgetary constraints.

Responsibilities include budgeting up to $5 million, negotiating change orders, coordinating with stakeholders, and applying best practices in construction management to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Broad knowledge of construction management methods, materials, safety, scheduling, specifications, contract documents, estimating, and cost analysis.
• Ability to manage projects with emphasis on cost control, project delivery, and scheduling.
• Managerial and communication skills.
• Knowledge of construction regulations and best practices.
• Knowledge of scheduling, CAD, field layout, submittal review, project quantities, procurement, equipment tracking, and planning.
• Ability to use construction management software and applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage construction project plans from small to mid-size projects.
• Oversee day-to-day construction issues and supervise inspectors.
• Assign tasks and overtime for highway technicians and project supervisors.
• Create and maintain project documentation including contracts, permits, progress reports, and pay estimates.
• Coordinate with contractor, agency, and stakeholders to resolve field issues.
• Ensure projects are constructed per plans, within budget, and compliant with agency expectations.
• Develop and manage project budgets up to $5 million.
• Create change orders and prepare contractor claims.
• Identify risks and mitigate impacts to minimize disruption to timelines.
