Candidates should have CTHTP or related construction education and a high school diploma or equivalent, plus CDL and strong plan-reading, communication, and computer skills.

Qualifications

• Requires a valid driver’s license and CDL (Class A or B) or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Experience supervising construction technicians preferred.
• Strong reading of highway/bridge plans and specs; ability to identify errors.

Responsibilities

• Ensure INDOT and contractor employees perform work safely.
• Supervise assigned INDOT construction technicians.
• Ensure projects meet plans, specifications, and contract requirements on time and on budget.
• Perform sampling and testing of construction materials or coordinate technicians.
• Provide clarifications to contractors and suggest revisions to meet project scope.
• Review drawings from contractors, suppliers, and fabricators; prepare inspection and progress reports.
• Prepare responses to injuries for the District Communications Director.
• Engage with property/business owners to resolve access and drainage issues.
