Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Accountant with construction industry expertise to join our growing finance team in the Montgomery County area. This role leads month-end close, financial reporting, job costing, and variance analysis while partnering with project managers and operations leaders to improve business performance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in progressive accounting, strong Excel and ERP skills, and experience supporting audits and multi-entity projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 5+ years accounting experience, construction industry experience.
• Strong full-cycle accounting and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience with job costing, WIP reporting, and % completion accounting.
• Audit support, month-end close, and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency.
• Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and timely financial reporting.
• Analyze financial results, project performance, and variances against budget and forecast.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Partner with project managers and operational leaders to provide financial insights.
• Prepare audit schedules and support audits.
• Assist with corporate reporting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
