Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Analyst - II to support VA applications and migrate to the cloud. The role requires deep CM expertise, release engineering, and experience in regulated or federal environments.

You will architect CM standards, train developers, and guide teams in CM best practices to ensure compliant builds and deployments. The position is remote, full-time, and US-based with a Public Trust clearance expectation.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field.
Strong CM and release engineering experience in regulated/federal environments.
Proficient in source control and branching/merging strategies.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD and artifact repositories.
Automation scripting with Bash/PowerShell/Python.
Familiarity with IaC (Ansible, Terraform) and DevOps tooling.
Ability to translate complex concepts for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead software builds/releases across multiple environments.
Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery of software.
Design, implement, and automate build procedures for product development.
Train developers on CM tools and quality practices.
Ensure repeatable, compliant build and deployment processes.
Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders and mentor junior analysts.
