Job summary

Orion is seeking a seasoned Estimator in Houston to analyze project plans, soils reports and related data to determine bid costs for concrete construction. You will collaborate with the Estimating Manager and Project Management to prepare complete proposals and cost analyses, and maintain cost data and estimating guidelines.

This office-based role may require travel to job sites for estimates and occasionally long hours to meet deadlines while upholding safety, quality, delivery and teamwork

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years field and/or estimating experience in structural and light commercial concrete construction or equivalent.
• BS Degree in Construction Management or related discipline; field experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Applies technical skills with minimal guidance and works independently.
• Collaborates with Estimating Manager and Project Management Team to support bid estimation for concrete construction projects.
• Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates.
• Prepare and review written proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Develops and maintains cost data, including labor and equipment rates, installation methods and production rates.
• Develops and maintains estimating procedures and guidelines.
• Maintains confidentiality of company information.
