Job summary

ORION in Houston seeks an experienced Estimator for concrete construction bids, analyzing plans, specs, soils reports, and related data to prepare accurate cost proposals. The role is office-based with some site travel for estimating purposes.

The position requires 8+ years of field and estimating experience, a BS in Construction Management or related discipline, and strong skills in cost data development, vendor liaison, and meeting deadlines in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 8 years field and/or estimating experience in structural and light commercial concrete construction.
• BS Degree in Construction Management or related discipline; field experience preferred.
• Ability to develop and maintain estimating procedures and cost data.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specs, soils reports to prepare bid estimates including materials, labor, equipment and subcontractors.
• Prepare and review written proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Develop weekly bid calendars and ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Collaborate with Estimating Manager and Project Management Team to secure bid success.
