Job summary

Orion is seeking an estimator to analyze project plans, soils reports, and other data to prepare bid proposals for concrete construction projects. The role is office-based with travel to job sites for estimating purposes and may require long shifts and weekend hours per production needs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of estimating/field experience in concrete construction, a BS in Construction Management or related field, and strong computer skills including MS Office, InEight, OST, and MS

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years field and/or estimating experience in structural and light commercial concrete construction or equivalent work experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical skills with minimal guidance from others and work independently.
• Assist Estimating Manager and Project Management Team to ensure success in bid estimation for concrete construction projects.
• Review and evaluate requests for estimates.
• Prepare and/or review written proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Develop and maintain cost data including labor and equipment rates, installation methods and production rates.
• Develop and maintain estimating procedures and guidelines.
