Job summary

Orion is seeking an experienced estimator for concrete construction projects. This on-site role involves analyzing plans, specifications and soils reports to assemble cost estimates for bids.

The position requires close collaboration with the Estimating Manager and Project Management Team to ensure accuracy and timely proposals. Qualified candidates have a BS in Construction Management or related field and 8+ years of estimating or field experience in structural or light commercial concrete

Qualifications

• Minimum of a BS degree in Construction Management or related discipline.
• 8+ years field and/or estimating experience in concrete construction or equivalent.
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office, InEight, OST and MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project plans, specs, soils reports to determine cost estimates (materials, labor, equipment, subcontractors).
• Collaborate with Estimating Manager and Project Management Team to ensure bid estimation success for concrete construction projects.
• Review and evaluate requests for estimates; prepare and review proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepare weekly bid calendar and ensure timely completion of estimates.
• Develop and maintain cost data including labor/equipment rates and production methods.
• Develop and maintain estimating procedures and guidelines.
