Job summary

Orion Hidden Careers is seeking an estimator to analyze project plans, specifications, and soils reports to produce comprehensive bid estimates for concrete construction. The role involves office-based work with travel to job sites for estimating purposes.

The candidate should have 5+ years of field or estimating experience in concrete construction, a relevant BS degree, and strong proficiency in MS Office, ICE, OST, and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years field or estimating experience in concrete construction.
• BS degree in Construction Management or related field.
• Strong computer skills including MS Office, ICE, OST, and MS Project.
• Ability to work under tight deadlines and in high-stress situations.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes project plans, specs, soils reports to determine cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Collaborates with Business Development and Project Management to ensure bid success for concrete projects.
• Reviews and evaluates requests for estimates.
• Prepares and/or reviews written proposals for completeness and accuracy.
• Prepares weekly bid calendar and ensures timely completion of estimates.
• Develops and maintains cost data, including labor and equipment rates and production methods.
• Develops estimating procedures and guidelines.
