Job summary

American International Group (AIG) seeks a Complex Director in Excess Claims to lead investigation, evaluation, and disposition of large commercial property and casualty claims. You will steer litigation strategy, control reserves, and present disposition recommendations to senior management.

The role requires strong negotiation, ADR/mediations, and leadership in a high-volume, high-stakes environment with licensure in Property & Casualty.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Commercial/Industry claims experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal/written) and strong negotiation abilities.
• Advanced experience in litigation claims management including ADR and mediation.
• Experience controlling cases pre-suit, litigated and post-trial at mediations and conferences.
• Property and Casualty licenses required, must be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Review coverage under Excess policies and participate in investigation and strategy.
• Direct litigation, attend mediations and trials, assess liability and damages.
• Present large value cases to senior management and obtain approval to negotiate.
• Budget litigation, coordinate with counsel, vendors, and insureds.
• Maintain clear ground rules with defense and coverage counsel to control costs.
