Job summary

AIG is seeking a Complex Director in Excess Claims to manage some of the largest, most complex claims in our portfolio. You will oversee investigation, evaluation and disposition of multimillion-dollar 3rd party property and casualty claims, with leadership of coverage reviews and litigation strategy across top plaintiff attorneys.

You will communicate with insureds, brokers and counsel, negotiates settlements and attends mediations, trials, and budget discussions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of commercial/industry claims experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with strong negotiation skills.
• Advanced experience in litigation management including ADR and mediation.
• Experience controlling cases from pre-suit through post-trial at mediations and settlements.
• Property and casualty licenses required and to be obtained if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigation, evaluation and disposition of high value 3rd party property and casualty claims.
• Review coverage under Excess CGL and auto policies; guide litigation strategy.
• Direct litigation, attend mediations and trials; assess liability and damages.
• Present disposition recommendations to senior management; ensure budget control.
• Negotiate multimillion-dollar claims with top plaintiff attorneys; document strategy.
