Gusto, a leading payroll and benefits platform, is seeking a Senior Compensation Manager to scale and automate pay programs. You will drive policy, governance, and market-aligned pay decisions in collaboration with HRBPs, Finance, Legal, and executives.

Role emphasizes AI-native workflows, data-driven decision making, and strong focus on equity and compliance across multiple markets. Hybrid office model with potential travel to SF/Denver/NYC offices.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in Compensation or Total Rewards, preferably in high-growth tech.
• Hands-on with AI tools or automation to accelerate analysis.
• Experience running compensation cycles and building scalable programs.
• Direct experience with Radford/Aon, Mercer, Pave, or similar benchmarking tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and communicate compensation programs and policies with internal equity and external competitiveness.
• Influence stakeholders to translate philosophy into actionable programs.
• Lead annual compensation cycles end-to-end from data collection to communication.
• Perform market analyses using survey data to set pay ranges and offers.
• Use AI tools to accelerate analysis while ensuring data quality and guardrails.
• Design scalable workflows and tooling to automate analyses and reporting.
• Build dashboards for leaders on pay equity, market position, and budget usage.
• Create compelling offers and total rewards playbooks for recruiters and HRBPs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pay regulations including transparency laws.
• Partner with People Ops to integrate HRIS and compensation tools.
