Job summary

Travelers seeks a Senior Account Executive Officer for Commercial Accounts to partner with agents and brokers, underwriting high-complexity accounts and delivering tailored property, liability, auto, and workers' compensation coverage.

You will build regional book profitability, mentor junior underwriters, and collaborate with the Managing Director to craft region sales plans while traveling to client meetings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Eight to ten years of underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• CPCU designation preferred.
• Four years of underwriting experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• The book of business owned is primarily comprised of accounts with high complexity.
• Underwrite and negotiate highly complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners within the business unit and across the enterprise to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster and maintain relationships with external partners by regularly meeting in person with agents and brokers to market and sell Travelers products with a goal of writing and retaining accounts consistent with our risk appetite.
• Must be able to travel to such meetings.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using advanced consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Independently develop and execute agency sales plans and frequently partner with your Managing Director (MD) to develop region/group sales plans.
• Support the development of less experienced underwriters leveraging advanced coaching and mentorship skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
