Job summary

Travelers in Phoenix seeks a Senior Account Executive Officer for Commercial Accounts to partner with agents and brokers; provide coverage for property, general liability, auto, and workers’ compensation; and drive profitability. You will underwrite complex accounts, develop sales plans with the Managing Director, and travel to meet brokers to market Travelers products.

The role requires substantial underwriting experience in commercial lines, strong negotiation and communication skills, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Six to eight years underwriting experience in commercial lines.
• Deep knowledge of commercial lines products, the regulatory environment, and the local insurance market.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and negotiate complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster relationships with external partners by meeting with agents and brokers to market Travelers products and write/retain accounts.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop agency sales plans with Managing Director to create regional sales plans.
• May assist in training and mentoring less experienced Account Executives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
