Job summary

SouthState Bank, N.A. is seeking a SAM Commercial Portfolio Manager to support the commercial loan portfolio across multiple officers and team leads, delivering quality underwriting and sound portfolio management.

You will analyze credit information, compile robust loan packages, guide requests through approval, and ensure documentation and regulatory compliance while maintaining strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Education: Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; Graduation from a recognized school of banking is an asset or equivalent experience
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit analysis, commercial banking, business banking with at least 5 years of specific portfolio management and/or underwriting experience
• Certifications/Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of accounting and lending principles; knowledge of Federal and State lending regulations and bank policies

Responsibilities

• Analyzes financial information to evaluate credit worthiness of renewals, modifications, and forbearance loan requests and ongoing portfolio management
• Compiles commercial loan packages with background info, financial analysis, risk assessment and recommendations
• Guides loan requests through Credit Approval Process ensuring structure meets client needs and bank objectives
• Assures compliance with regulations and bank policies; maintain documentation for all loans
• Engages with customers for financial information and builds relationships with internal partners
