Job summary

SouthState Bank, N.A. is seeking a Commercial Portfolio Manager III to support the commercial loan and deposit portfolio for Relationship Managers. You will perform underwriting, portfolio management, and deliver superior client service within bank policies.

The role requires deep knowledge of credit analysis, loan structuring, and regulatory compliance, with requirement for strong communication and relationship-building across internal teams and clients.

Qualifications

• Education: Four-year degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field; Banking school asset.
• Experience: 8+ years in credit analysis, commercial banking or related portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial information to evaluate creditworthiness of loan requests and ongoing portfolio management.
• Compile commercial loan packages with credit memo, background, financial analysis, risk assessment and recommendations.
• Guide loan requests through Credit Approval process and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Monitor and service large commercial loan portfolios and maintain documentation with internal partners.
• Support relationship managers & credit administration; participate in calls with clients as needed.
• Stay updated on regulatory requirements and bank policies.
