Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking an experienced Commercial Credit Underwriter to support the Chief Credit Officer with underwriting, analysis and reporting. The role involves reviewing personal and business tax returns and financial statements to inform lending decisions.

You will identify risks, monitor covenants, gather documentation with loan officers, and prepare periodic credit reports while adhering to policy standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related degree (or equivalent commercial underwriting experience).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Commercial Credit Underwriting (required).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with commercial credit spreading/unwriting software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Chief Credit Officer with various aspects of the Bank's credit administration and lending functions.
• Independently underwrite and analyze new and existing commercial credit relationships, including the preparation of comprehensive credit presentations.
• Analyze personal and corporate tax returns along with financial statements to compile a comprehensive analysis for lending decisions.
• Identify key credit risks, trends, and weaknesses within the credit relationship.
• Assist in on-going covenant and financial monitoring.
• Work closely with Commercial Loan Officers in gathering financials and documentation imperative in making a sound credit decision.
• Prepare and assemble monthly, quarterly and other credit related reports for management as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of the Bank's lending policies, procedures and underwriting standards and identify exceptions to policy.
• Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in every task performed.
• Effectively manage multiple assignments, prioritize workload, and consistently meet underwriting and reporting deadlines.
