Job summary

Central Bank FL seeks a Commercial Loan Underwriting Officer to underwrite safe, sound commercial loans in line with underwriting standards and regulatory requirements. You will analyze financials for loan requests, assess risk, and support loan officers to meet borrower needs with prudent credit decisions.

The role involves reviewing tax returns and financial statements, coordinating with attorneys, and maintaining strong customer relationships while upholding bank policies and industry

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a 4-year college or university.
• Two years related experience and/or training in lending/financial analysis.
• Formal credit training experience preferred.
• SBA 7(a) experience is a plus.
• Registered with NMLS as a mortgage loan originator under SAFE Act.
• Knowledge of commercial loan origination, underwriting, documentation and processing.
• Experience with financial statement spreading, cash flow and tax return analysis.
• Understanding of state and federal lending laws, rules and regulations.
• Ability to develop marketing and business development skills with customers.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with solid organizational ability.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite commercial loans consistently and in compliance with standards and laws.
• Analyze financial data for new and renewal loan requests, including lines of credit and real estate financing.
• Assess risk and provide recommendations to loan officers and relationship staff.
• Review tax returns, financial statements and income to determine borrower viability.
• Coordinate with attorneys and other resources to obtain required documents.
• Support relationship officers and develop customer relationships with credit analysis.
