Job summary

Community Financial System, Inc. is seeking a Credit Analyst III to analyze and underwrite complex commercial loan relationships with independence and sound risk awareness.

The role supports credit decision-making through detailed analysis, documentation, and escalation when needed. Responsibilities include preparing comprehensive memoranda, performing advanced financial analyses, and assisting with deal structuring and portfolio reviews to maintain credit quality across the bank.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field plus specialized education in credit analysis and commercial lending.

Responsibilities

• Independently analyze and underwrite complex commercial credit relationships.
• Prepare comprehensive credit memoranda for new requests, renewals, modifications, and reviews.
• Perform advanced financial analysis including global cash flow and stress testing.
• Identify credit risks and document assumptions clearly.
• Recommend loan structures, covenants, and collateral aligned with policy.
• Support officers and relationship managers on complex transactions.
• Monitor covenant compliance and financial reporting for assigned loans.
• Participate in deal-structuring discussions and internal reviews.
• Accompany managers on calls to discuss borrower operations.
