Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a senior CNC machinist to develop hardware in collaboration with Engineering and to drive production from design to inspection. You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 3, 4, and 5 axis mills and multi-axis lathes, while ensuring conformance to engineering specifications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with 3, 4 and 5 axis CNC machining.
• 10+ years of experience with manual milling and lathe operations.
• 7+ years of experience with NX CAD/CAM software.
• Extensive knowledge of GD&T and inspection methodologies.
• Excellent blueprint reading and interpretation of drawings and specs.
• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-changing, collaborative environment.
• Experience machining nickel-based alloys, copper, titanium, or aluminum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop hardware in collaboration with Engineering from concept to production.
• Machine parts from raw material through to inspection and final QC.
• Set up and program 3, 4, and 5 axis mills and multi-axis lathes; optimize processes.
• Operate NC and manual equipment safely and efficiently.
• Document and standardize production processes with engineering.
• Balance priorities with production schedule and organizational goals.
