Job summary

Blue Origin in the United States seeks an experienced CNC machinist/programmer to develop and optimize high-volume CNC programs, define processes, and collaborate with engineering on manufacturability. You will maintain machine programs and contribute to quality improvements in a safety-focused, on-site environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years of CNC machining, experience with multi-axis machines, and familiarity with NX or ESPRIT and Fanuc/Siemens controls.

Qualifications

• 7+ years CNC machining experience
• 2+ years with multi-axis machines
• 2+ years CNC programming experience (desired)
• Proficiency with NX (v10–2306) or ESPRIT
• Experience with Tsugami, DMG Mori, or Okuma CNC platforms
• Working knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, OSP, or other CNC controls
• Excellent blueprint reading including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994
• Ability to provide DFM feedback to engineering teams
• Proficiency with PC and standard business software

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize lights-out CNC programs for high-volume manufacturing
• Deliver tailored machining solutions for development, prototyping, and research
• Define and document setup sheets, processes, and work instructions
• Create, maintain, and manage machine programs in configuration management systems
• Identify optimal machining strategies from material selection to final part
• Develop and deploy new manufacturing methods to improve quality and reduce cost
• Operate and maintain CNC machinery for peak performance and availability
• Provide DFM feedback to engineers for design improvements
• Maintain a 5S workspace and safe handling of hazardous materials
