Job summary
Blue Origin, Space Coast, FL; Huntsville, AL; Kent, WA is seeking a CNC Machining and CAM Automation Engineer to join AMG. You will develop and deploy advanced machining processes, custom software, CNC automation, and CAM automation to drive the delivery of rockets and systems.
Collaborate across disciplines to scale machining automation and improve safety, quality and efficiency. The role requires 7+ years in CNC manufacturing, strong CAM/CNC programming experience, and coding skills in
Qualifications
- 7+ years in a CNC machining manufacturing environment.
- Proven success with CAM systems and CNC programming.
- Experience in software development and/or CNC postprocessor or CAM customization.
- Extensive CNC controls experience (Sinumerik, Heidenhain, Fanuc, or Okuma).
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specs.
- Strong coding ability in Python and TypeScript.
Responsibilities
- Develop and support software to automate CNC programming and machining fabrication.
- Drive adoption of efficiency tools and AI/ML in manufacturing processes.
- Create CNC postprocessors and machine code simulation.
- Integrate CAD/CAM/PLM systems and extensions.
- Lead automation projects and collaborate across multiple engineering teams.
- Provide hands-on support to machinists and programmers on new processes.
