Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Huntsville, AL is seeking a CMM Programmer/Operator Level II to inspect aerospace components with precision. You will program, set up, and operate CMMs and manual layout, using PC-DMIS, and read blueprints to ensure conformance to tight tolerances.

You’ll generate data analysis templates in Excel, conduct first article and in-process inspections, and provide feedback to machinists and engineers. Strong quality-system familiarity is required.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in dimensional inspection of aerospace components or equivalent.
• CMM programming and operation; PC-DMIS is the primary programming language for this role.
• Superior blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5-2009 and -2018 standards.
• Excellent communication skills submitted in clear, concise reports.
• Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management Systems and/or related quality systems and programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage preparation for CMM inspection by creating data analysis templates using Microsoft Excel.
• Inspection Software Quality Assurance.
• Program, set-up and operate CMM and Manual Layout.
• Use design data to inspect machined and received components.
• Perform first article, in-process, and final inspections.
• Provide feedback to machinists and engineers with dimensional data.
• Document Non Conformance reports as required.
• Provide inspection time estimates.
• Process improvement including inspection cycle time reductions.
• Maintain configuration control on files and job records.
