Job summary

Blue Origin in Huntsville, AL seeks a CMM Technician II to verify complex, high-precision hardware against drawings. You will operate coordinate measuring machines, edit measurement routines, and collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to improve drawings, fixtures, and inspection processes.

You will perform FAI/AS9102, in-process, and final inspections, document results, and help ensure product conformity while supporting a safe, inclusive team culture on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2+ years in dimensional inspection or equivalent.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and procedures.
• Experience operating CMM (PC-DMIS/Calypso/MODUS).
• Ability to read GD&T callouts and establish datum frames.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain CMMs to inspect precision components, working from drawings, inspection plans, and work orders.
• Run, edit, and adjust CMM measurement routines; support the development of new routines.
• Establish part alignments and datum references per GD&T callouts, ensuring measurement strategies reflect design intent.
• Set up and use inspection fixtures and part-holding methods to repeatably locate hardware.
• Execute dimensional inspection campaigns and iterate passes until results are repeatable and defensible.
• Perform FAI/AS9102, in-process, and final inspections with reports.
