Job summary

Fuze Health is hiring a Senior Database Administrator to lead the AWS database modernization for the Hospice unit. You will drive migration from SQL Server 2016 on EC2 to AWS RDS, modernize SSIS/SSRS, optimize costs, and educate the Hospice SQL DBA team on cloud database operations.

This role shapes database strategy for critical healthcare apps serving hospice patients nationwide. You will establish cloud-native monitoring, implement automated backups, ensure HITRUST compliance, and collaborate

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in database administration.
• Deep expertise with Microsoft SQL Server (2016+) performance tuning and HA/DR.
• Hands-on upgrade migrations from SQL Server 2016 and end-of-support planning.
• SSIS and SSRS development, maintenance, and migration to AWS.
• Experience with AWS RDS (SQL Server) setup and Multi-AZ.
• Experience with AWS-native ETL: DMS, Glue; or plan for SSIS migration.
• Backup/restore strategies, PITR, cross-region replication.
• Monitoring with Datadog, CloudWatch, and SQL DMVs.

Responsibilities

• Lead SQL Server modernization on EC2 and migration to AWS RDS or upgrade.
• Migrate SSIS ETL and SSRS reporting to AWS-native or upgrade on EC2.
• Drive cost optimization and right-sizing, licensing efficiency.
• Upskill Hospice SQL DBA team in AWS database operations.
• Establish cloud-native monitoring and performance baselines.
• Design automated backup, restore, and DR processes using AWS Backup.
• Collaborate with DevOps on Terraform for RDS.
