Job summary

Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. seeks a high‑impact Cloud Infrastructure Leader to oversee public/private cloud, hybrid architecture, and automation. You will manage engineers across compute, storage, backup, and OS, while shaping the hybrid strategy and reference architectures.

You will drive incident response, capacity planning, governance, and cost management, ensuring secure, scalable, and compliant cloud services across environments. This is a senior, hands‑on leadership role.

Qualifications

• Strong people leadership and operational management skills.
• Cloud architect‑level understanding of Azure, AWS, or GCP; virtualization; Windows and Linux; compute, storage, backup, networking, identity, monitoring, security, resilience, automation, and cost management.
• Hands‑on proficiency with cloud architecture review, hybrid cloud operations, infrastructure troubleshooting, automation, scripting, cloud governance controls, backup and recovery practices, monitoring, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineers for public cloud, private cloud, virtualization, compute, storage, backup, OS, and related infra services.
• Mature hybrid cloud ops strategy, service catalog, reference architectures, landing‑zone standards, support model, capacity plans, lifecycle roadmap, and backlog.
• Oversee day‑to‑day service health, incident response, problem management, patching, vulnerability remediation, configuration, capacity, backup, recovery, and readiness.
• Provide hands‑on architecture review and escalation for complex cloud and infra issues.
• Ensure cloud/infrastructure services meet availability, performance, security, compliance, and data protection requirements.
• Implement standardized landing‑zone, identity, network, tagging, policy, logging, monitoring, backup, and configuration standards across clouds.
• Drive infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, policy as code, self‑service provisioning, and deployment patterns.
• Define and report service level objectives, reliability indicators, capacity trends, risk, technical debt, asset lifecycle, and cloud consumption metrics.
• Lead major incident response and root‑cause analysis; ensure corrective actions are tracked and validated.
• Partner with IT and EA teams to align designs, standards, and roadmaps.
