Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a Senior Application/Infrastructure Support Engineer to provide day-to-day operational support for cloud systems. You will optimize performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and work with AWS/Azure, IaC, and CI/CD tools in a remote setting.

The role requires 8+ years in systems engineering, strong Linux/Windows skills, and experience with cloud monitoring and security practices. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related field, production environments.
• 3+ years of experience with SQL queries and monitoring.
• Strong Linux/Windows administration and scripting skills.
• Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environments and IaC tooling.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
• Familiarity with security best practices and VA/security standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems.
• Develop solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope.
• Monitor, document, and escalate system outages with recovery actions.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to resolve issues.
• Perform maintenance and installation of computing infrastructure.
