Job summary

Meta seeks a Cloud Production Platform Engineer to serve as the expert for compute, storage, and GPU platforms in Meta’s data centers and cloud provider environments. You will own problem escalation, drive hardware/software investigations, and help scale production hardware across a global fleet.

You will collaborate with hardware engineering, production release, and systems integration teams to bring new servers into mass production and to decommission aging platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a technical field.
• 10+ years of experience with server hardware in internet operations or design/test validation.
• Experience triaging and debugging hardware platforms.
• Familiarity with NPI server platform development.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Experience training and mentoring technicians/engineers.
• Strong documentation and communication skills.
• Ability to leverage large data volumes to improve hardware decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for compute, storage, and GPU platforms in Meta data centers and cloud providers.
• Act as the deep escalation point for cloud hardware issues and drive RCAs to resolution.
• Identify systemic hardware issues across cloud providers and Meta fleet.
• Represent reliability and serviceability expectations to cloud providers with evidence.
• Provide end-to-end lifecycle support for hardware platforms and new tech.
• Lead multi-disciplinary investigations across Hardware, Software/Firmware, Networking and Power & Cooling.
• Analyze health of global server fleet to proactively identify issues and mitigate impact.
• Collaborate with HW Eng, Release to Production, and Systems Integration for mass production.
• Capture test methods during new hardware programs to meet customer needs.
• Build feedback loops to improve operation as infrastructure scales.
