Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced hardware engineering professional with leadership in server hardware, high performance compute, storage, accelerators (GPU), and networking, ideally in a data center environment. The Production Platform Engineers ensure health and performance of the fleet across Meta's data centers and cloud providers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in server hardware in internet operations or design/test validation.
• Experience triaging and debugging hardware platforms.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Experience mentoring technicians and engineers.
• Strong documentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Ability to leverage data to improve hardware decisions.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for compute/storage/accelerator platforms in data centers and cloud capacity.
• Act as deep escalation point for cloud hardware issues and drive investigations to resolution.
• Identify systemic hardware issues across cloud providers and Meta fleet.
• Represent reliability and serviceability expectations to cloud providers with technical evidence.
• Carry findings from cloud back into Meta platform work to speed diagnosis.
• Provide end-to-end lifecycle support of hardware platforms and new tech.
• Drive complex investigations across hardware, software/firmware, networking, power & cooling.
• Analyze health of global server fleet to preemptively mitigate impact.
• Collaborate with HW Engineering, Release to Production, Systems Integration for mass production.
• Identify risks early in new hardware programs and contribute test methods.
• Act as product owner for specific server/storage platforms; perform RCA/CA with teams.
• Issue timely alerts and fixes to operations teams; feedback to engineering.
• Build relationships across teams to improve operational effectiveness as infrastructure scales.
• Provide serviceability feedback to improve repair activities.
