Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Sr. Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to join the Network Product Development team. You will build, deploy, and scale networks that support AWS, customers, and other business units across global data centers.

Collaborate with hardware and software teams to design high-speed electrical and optical systems, evaluate features with vendors, and drive development of new components. This role focuses on reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of work experience on optical communication systems or components.
• 8+ years of experience working with high speed signals and signal and power integrity in electronic devices.
• 4+ years of experience with optical transceivers and IEEE standards.
• 2+ years of experience working with optical and networking merchant silicon suppliers, manufacturing processes, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors/manufacturers to evaluate new hardware and software features. Create implementations plans for incorporating them into the network.
• Simulate and accurately mode high speed electrical and optical designs
• Automate electrical and optical test plans helping qualifying optical modules.
• Collaborate with vendors/manufactures in defining and developing new electrical and optical components and modules.
• Work with network operations team in identifying operation issues and improving quality and RMA process.
