Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Cupertino, CA is seeking a Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to design, validate, and deliver hardware for the AWS network. You will work with cross-functional teams across hardware, software, and security to build scalable interconnects.

You will collaborate with vendors, automate test plans, and contribute to reliability and cost efficiency at scale. The role requires a Bachelor's in EE/CE and at least 1 year of optical and network hardware experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
• 1+ years of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment experience.
• 1+ years of experience with optical systems, optical transcribers and transmission systems.
• 1+ years of experience developing test scripts for optics validation and characterization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate hardware and software features.
• Create implementation plans for incorporating them into the network.
• Automate optic, AEC, DAC test plans and qualify pluggable modules.
• Collaborate with vendors/manufactures in defining and developing test plans for pluggable modules.
• Work with network operations to identify operation issues and improve RMA process.
