Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering leads the design and development of server products, partnering with a wide range of component and manufacturing teams to deliver scalable servers for data centers worldwide.

You will collaborate with customers to understand their technical needs and translate them into robust, cost-efficient server solutions, while guiding post-launch fleet monitoring and continuous improvement initiatives across large-scale deployments.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures.
• Experience in server technologies such as thermal, mechanical, power, and signal integrity.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years experience with design and manufacturing processes.
• 5+ years experience leading ODMs and other suppliers in the product development and manufacturing processes.
• In depth expertise in one or more server technologies such as Thermal / Mechanical design, high speed bus design and signal integrity, failure analysis, server components (e.g. CPU, NIC, FPGA, GPU, SSDs, drives), BIOS, BMC, and networking
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design and development of server products utilizing a wide range of design and manufacturing partners.
• Work closely with customers to understand their technical needs and business goals, leveraging your experience with server design and the knowledge of various teams to architect scalable solutions.
• Deliver products by working with an interdisciplinary team of component, firmware, test, qualification, and integration engineers, and lead design and manufacturing partners to bring servers to the data center.
• Oversee the fleet of servers you develop, monitoring their quality and how they are meeting customer requirements.
• Drive continual improvement in performance, quality and cost.
