Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Sr. Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to design, build, and scale network hardware across global data centers.

You will partner with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance, power-efficient hardware for the AWS network, balancing cost, performance, and reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in optical communication systems or components.
• 8+ years of experience with high speed signals and signal and power integrity.
• 4+ years of experience with optical transceivers and IEEE standards.
• 2+ years of experience with optical and networking merchant silicon suppliers, manufacturing processes, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate new hardware and software features.
• Simulate and accurately model high speed electrical and optical designs.
• Automate electrical and optical test plans helping qualifying optical modules.
• Collaborate with vendors in defining and developing new electrical and optical components and modules.
• Work with network operations team in identifying operation issues and improving quality and RMA process.
