Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Cloud Hardware Development Engineer to design, deploy, and scale network hardware for the AWS global infrastructure. You will work across data centers, collaborating with hardware teams and vendors to deliver high performance, reliable interconnects.

You will evaluate new hardware features, simulate high-speed designs, and develop tooling to automate tests and validation. The role demands deep expertise in optics, networking, and scalable system engineering.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of work experience on optical communication systems or components.
• 8+ years of experience with high speed signals and signal and power integrity in electronic devices.
• 4+ years of experience with optical transceivers and IEEE standards.
• 2+ years of experience with optical and networking merchant silicon suppliers, manufacturing processes, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and optimize cloud networking hardware and systems.
• Collaborate with ODM/CM suppliers to develop and qualification of optical modules.
• Develop and validate high-speed electrical and optical components.
• Create technical documentation and implementation plans for network hardware.
• Work with network operations to improve reliability and performance.
• Drive sustainability and efficiency in data center networks.
