Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the transition of Digital Collection Services from on‑premises to AWS GovCloud. You will provide hands‑on administration, configuration, troubleshooting, security, and operations for the AWS infrastructure powering large evidentiary data and DCS apps.

The ideal candidate has strong AWS GovCloud experience (EC2, FSx ONTAP, IAM, networking, CloudWatch) and can operate across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; 12+ years experience or equivalent.
• 5+ years in cloud infrastructure or systems engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on AWS administration.
• Experience in AWS GovCloud or regulated environments.
• Proficient with EC2 (Windows Server), FSx, S3, IAM, VPCs, CloudWatch.
• Strong security, access control and compliance knowledge.
• Ability to work in hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, on-prem).

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot AWS GovCloud infrastructure for DCS.
• Manage Amazon EC2, including Windows Server.
• Configure and administer FSx for NetApp ONTAP storage.
• Manage Amazon S3 storage and related infrastructure.
• Configure IAM roles and access controls.
• Configure/troubleshoot VPCs, security groups, firewall rules, routing.
• Implement and maintain CloudWatch monitoring and alerts.
• Support secure connectivity between AWS, Azure, and VA on-premise.
• Use AWS CLI and automation for administration.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, storage, performance.
• Develop documentation and runbooks.
• Coordinate with VA platform teams and engineering teams.
• Support transition from on-prem to cloud operations.
