Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to support the transition of Digital Collection Services from on‑premises to AWS GovCloud. The engineer will provide hands‑on administration, configuration, troubleshooting, security, and operational support for the AWS infrastructure that supports large‑scale evidentiary data and DCS applications.

The role requires strong AWS GovCloud experience (EC2, FSx ONTAP, S3, IAM, VPCs, CloudWatch) and the ability to operate in a hybrid AWS, Azure, and VA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/engineering; 12+ years related experience.
• 5+ years cloud infrastructure or systems engineering.
• 3+ years hands-on AWS administration.
• Experience in AWS GovCloud or regulated clouds.
• EC2 (Windows Server) experience.
• FSx for NetApp ONTAP experience.
• Experience managing S3 storage.
• Experience with IAM, roles, policies and access controls.
• Experience with VPCs, security groups, firewall rules, routing.
• CloudWatch monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• AWS CLI for administration & automation.
• Hybrid or multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, on-prem).
• Cloud security, access management & compliance knowledge.
• Troubleshooting cloud infra, networking, storage & performance.
• Developing technical docs, procedures & runbooks.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving & collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and troubleshoot AWS GovCloud infra.
• Manage EC2 instances, including Windows-based servers.
• Configure and administer FSx for NetApp ONTAP storage.
• Manage S3 storage and related cloud infra.
• Configure IAM roles, policies, and access controls.
• Configure/troubleshoot VPCs, security groups, routing.
• Implement CloudWatch monitoring, logging & alerts.
• Support secure connectivity across AWS, Azure and VA on-prem.
• Use AWS CLI and automation tools for admin tasks.
• Troubleshoot infra, storage, network, and performance issues.
• Support cloud security & compliance in GovCloud.
• Monitor capacity, performance, availability and health.
• Develop and maintain runbooks and procedures.
• Coordinate with VA, AWS engineering and application teams.
• Assist transition from legacy on-prem to cloud operations.
