Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to drive the transition of DCS to AWS GovCloud, providing hands‑on administration, configuration, and support for a hybrid AWS, Azure, and VA on‑premises environment.

The role emphasizes strong AWS infrastructure experience, including EC2, FSx ONTAP, IAM, networking, and CloudWatch, with a focus on secure, scalable cloud operations and cross‑team collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field preferred with 12+ years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or systems engineering.
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS administration experience.
• Experience in AWS GovCloud or comparable regulated clouds.
• Hands-on with EC2 (Windows Server) and FSx for NetApp ONTAP.
• Experience managing S3 storage, IAM roles, policies, and access controls.
• Experience with VPCs, security groups, firewall rules, routing, and networking.
• Experience with CloudWatch monitoring, logging, and alerting.
• Experience using AWS CLI for administration and automation.
• Experience supporting hybrid/multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, on-prem).
• Knowledge of cloud security, access management, and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Administer and troubleshoot AWS GovCloud infrastructure.
• Manage Amazon EC2 instances, including Windows Server.
• Configure FSx for NetApp ONTAP storage environments.
• Manage Amazon S3 storage and related infrastructure.
• Configure IAM roles, policies, and access controls.
• Configure and troubleshoot VPCs, security groups, routing, and networking.
• Implement CloudWatch monitoring, logging, and alerts.
• Support secure connectivity across AWS, Azure, and on‑prem environments.
• Use AWS CLI and automation tools for infra administration.
• Troubleshoot performance, availability, and network issues.
• Develop technical runbooks and operational documentation.
