Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced development team. The ideal candidate will bring strong Kubernetes and container orchestration expertise, along with experience in CI/CD, AWS, Linux administration, and scripting in Python/Bash.

This role supports a customer onsite in Fort Meade, MD and requires DoD 8140/8570 compliance and leadership experience. The candidate will implement infrastructure, automate deployment processes, and ensure monitoring,

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8140 / 8570 compliant certifications (e.g., Security+)
• 9+ years in DevOps or software development with related degree, or 7+ years with master's, or 13+ years with high school diploma
• Strong knowledge of container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes)
• Experience with AWS services and deployment/management
• Experience with configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible)
• Experience deploying and managing applications, containers, and OS
• Ability to develop in Python, Bash, or Go
• Familiarity with Git, Flux and related tools
• Comfort in a terminal-based environment
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Understanding of AGILE methodologies and software tool chains
• Experience leading engineering teams as a tech lead or mentor
• Willingness to work onsite at Fort Meade, MD 4-5 days/week

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure deployment in AWS and EKS
• Automate deployment processes to ensure reliability and scalability
• Manage Kubernetes containers and cloud infrastructure on AWS
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot issues
• Improve processes for high availability and performance
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends
• Mentor team members and provide leadership as needed
• Handle onsite workspace opening/closing as required
• Perform other duties as assigned
