Job summary

Enlighten, a leader in big data solutions, seeks a DevOps Engineer to design, deploy, and optimize cloud and on‑prem infrastructure. You will manage Kubernetes and AWS deployments, automate CI/CD pipelines, and drive reliability across distributed systems from Fort Meade, MD.

The role demands deep Kubernetes/AWS expertise, Terraform/Ansible, Python/Bash/Go coding, and Agile leadership. On-site work supported by a comprehensive benefits package and a strong security posture.

Qualifications

• Active TS level U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI clearance.
• 9+ years of experience in DevOps Engineering or Software Development with a related Bachelor's; or 7 years with Masters; or 13 years with HS.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with deployment, scaling, and management of applications, containers, and OS.
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and other development/deployment tools.
• Comfortable in a terminal-based environment.
• Proficient Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Understanding of AGILE methodologies; experience as tech lead/mentor/manager.
• Willing to work on customer site in Fort Meade, MD 5 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Support development and deployment of cloud infrastructure in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support development and deployment of on-premise and portable edge infrastructure.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scalability of services.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate applications into the infrastructure.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production systems and resolve issues as necessary.
• Continuously improve processes and tools to ensure high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends, exploring improvements.
• Mentor and guide the engineering team; assume senior-level leadership responsibilities.
• Other duties as assigned.
