Job summary

Enlighten, a Top Workplace leader in big data and cloud services, seeks a senior DevOps Engineer to drive infrastructure, automation and reliability on AWS and Kubernetes. This role supports the Fort Meade, MD site and requires mentoring a cross‑functional team.

You will implement scalable CI/CD pipelines, manage container orchestration, and collaborate with engineers to deploy edge and cloud solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• Active DoD 8140/8570 compliant certifications (e.g., Security+).
• 7+ years in DevOps Engineering or Software Development with related degree; or 9+ years with a Bachelor's; or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes or other container orchestration platforms.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with application, container, and OS deployment, scaling, and management.
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go; scripting in Bash.
• Familiarity with Git, Flux, and deployment tools.
• Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Support AWS cloud infrastructure deployment, especially EKS.
• Support on-premise and portable edge infrastructure deployment.
• Automate deployment processes for reliability and scalability.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate apps into the infrastructure.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
• Improve processes for high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and trends.
• Mentor and lead the team as a senior engineer.
• Other duties as assigned.
