Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and improve our database systems and help design new solutions using the latest technologies. You will handle database design, performance tuning, complex SQL, and cloud/on‑prem workloads.

The role requires leading incident response, optimizing queries, and collaborating with architecture and infra teams. You’ll work with a cross-functional data team to ensure security, compliance, and scalable data strategies, while supporting

Qualifications

• 7+ years in database analysis, programming, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years as Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive experience with SQL Server 2016 or higher.
• Hands-on with cloud-based databases on Azure platform.
• Experience writing complex procedures, functions, and triggers.
• Understanding of execution plans and dynamic SQL.
• Strong knowledge of database structures and practices.
• Proven ability to optimize OLTP/OLAP performance.
• Experience with HADR tech (Always On, log shipping, backups).
• Experience with monitoring platforms (SSMS, Grafana, PowerBI).
• Experience with SSIS or ETL tooling and SSRS.
• Familiarity with cloud-native storage/platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects across on-prem and cloud databases.
• Recommend database approaches and design to architecture staff.
• Drive innovation via newer data technologies.
• Set coding standards with Architecture for stored procedures and design.
• Review complex structural changes to databases.
• Optimize queries and develop efficient SQL code.
• Lead investigations of database incidents and resolutions.
• Build and maintain database monitoring infrastructure and dashboards.
• Ensure security/compliance using encryption and masking tools.
• Advise on retention, tiering, and archiving strategies for high-volume data.
• Collaborate with Architecture, QA, Dev, and Infra teams.
