Zusammenfassung

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and evolve our on‑premise and cloud databases. You will design objects, optimize performance, and lead incident response while partnering with Architecture, QA, and Infra teams to ensure reliability and security.

The role emphasizes hands‑on SQL, Azure data services, and governance across large production databases, with a strong focus on encryption, monitoring, and best practices. Remote/hybrid options available.

Qualifikationen

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL 2016 and higher.
• Cloud-based database systems in Azure using Managed Instance, Azure SQL Hyperscale, Azure SQL DB, and VMs.
• Experience with multiple large databases (2+ TB).
• Experience writing complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Understanding of execution plans, system views, and dynamic SQL.
• Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles and practices.
• Innovative and analytical with extensive implementation skills.
• Performance optimization for OLTP/OLAP.
• SQL Server HADR technologies (Always On, log shipping, backup/recovery).
• Database monitoring platforms and dashboards (SSMS, Grafana, PowerBI, etc.).
• SSIS or other ETL tooling.
• SSRS or other reporting platforms.
• Familiarity with Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
• Azure Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, or other cloud platforms.

• Design, create, and maintain database objects on premise and cloud.
• Recommend database approaches to architecture and application staff.
• Drive innovation and newer data technologies.
• Establish coding standards for stored procedures, triggers, and schema design.
• Review and approve complex structural changes to the database.
• Optimize queries and develop efficient SQL code.
• Lead investigation and resolution of database incidents.
• Build and maintain database monitoring infrastructure for alerts and dashboards.
• Support database security and compliance using encryption tools.
• Advise on data retention, tiering, and archive strategies.
• Collaborate with Architecture, QA, App Development, and Infrastructure.
