Job summary

RegEd is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to maintain and improve existing databases and help design new systems using the latest tech. You will design objects, tune performance, and manage incidents within SLA while collaborating with Architecture, QA, and Infrastructure teams.

You will optimize SQL code, implement data retention strategies, and contribute to monitoring dashboards and security compliance across on‑premise and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• 7+ years database analysis, programming or similar experience.
• Minimum 4 years as a Senior Database Developer or equivalent.
• Extensive hands-on experience in SQL 2016 and higher.
• Cloud-based databases in Azure using Managed Instance / Hyperscale / DB.
• Experience with complex database procedures, functions and triggers.
• Strong understanding of execution plans and dynamic SQL.
• Experience with HADR technologies (Always On, log shipping, backups).

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and maintain database objects across on‑premise and cloud databases.
• Recommend database approaches and design to architecture and application staff.
• Drive innovation through newer data technologies and patterns.
• Establish coding standards with the Architecture team.
• Review and approve complex structural changes to databases.
• Optimize queries and procedures for efficiency.
• Lead investigations of database incidents and SLA‑driven resolutions.
• Build and maintain database monitoring infrastructure.
• Support security/compliance with encryption and data masking.
• Advise on retention, tiering, and archive strategies.
