Job summary

UC Davis Health is seeking a Senior Data Architect to serve as a primary technical and data architect for the Databricks Platform. You will ensure scalable, governed data architecture and deliver optimized operations for growing analytics and AI workloads.

You will lead end-to-end data warehouses, data lakes, and data lakehouses, modeling, ETL/ELT development, and security/access policies while working with clinical and operational data streams and cost optimization practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years delivering end-to-end data architectures for data warehouses/lakes.
• 5+ years designing cloud data platforms (AWS preferred).
• Deep expertise with Databricks and data governance in regulated environments (HIPAA).
• Strong communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead data architecture, governance and program management for UC Davis Health data platforms.
• Design and implement end-to-end data pipelines from Epic, HL7, and other systems.
• Collaborate with analytics, research and applications teams on governed, scalable patterns.
