Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Configuration Engineer to support VA applications and lead software configuration management efforts in a remote setting. You will architect CM tools, manage builds, and guide developers through CM best practices across diverse projects.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of experience in CM, release engineering, and DevOps, with strong scripting and IaC skills, plus ability to mentor junior staff and collaborate with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience leading complex builds and releases across environments.
• Background in regulated or federal environments is preferred.
• Deep CM and release engineering expertise is required.

Responsibilities

• Support VA applications and migrate to the cloud.
• Develop and maintain CM tools for identification, control, reporting, and delivery.
• Perform CM and release tasks ensuring compliant, repeatable builds.
• Design, develop, automate and maintain productivity tools for software modeling.
• Design and implement build procedures for software development.
• Develop CM standards for company-wide use.
• Train developers in CM tools and quality practices.
• Provide technical guidance and solutions to complex problems.
• Operate autonomously and meet deadlines across projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and mentor junior analysts/engineers.
