Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago seeks a Senior Consultant for Client Service Solutions within Integrated Portfolio Services. You will elevate client relationships, oversee middle office operations, and drive process improvements across IPS teams.

The role requires 5+ years in trade operations or hedge fund administration, strong Excel skills (VBA a plus), and a proven ability to lead projects, coordinate with partners, and deliver timely work for high–value clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in trade operations, reconciliations, hedge fund administration, or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities; leadership and collaboration across levels.
• Proficiency in Excel; VBA knowledge a plus; familiarity with financial products and P&L calculations.

Responsibilities

• Foster strong partnerships with clients by understanding their needs and advocating for them within IPS.
• Coordinate with Operational Partners to maintain and execute deliverable control checklists; ensure deadlines.
• Lead and motivate staff, promoting teamwork and exceptional client servicing.
• Develop understanding of client business processes and dependencies on deliverables; drive accountability.
• Participate in client onsite visits to understand operations firsthand.
• Efficiently manage issues, liaise with Relationship Managers, and escalate when necessary.
• Manage key client projects and oversee monthly workflows transitioning to the Backoffice.
