Job summary

Town-of-Landi seeks a Class A Lineman to maintain and repair the town's electric distribution, including overhead and underground circuits, transformers, and services for businesses and residences. You will operate bucket and service trucks, assist with streetlight systems, and collaborate across crews on energized and de-energized projects.

The role requires strong communication, five years’ lineman experience, a high school diploma with electrical training, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Class B Lineman.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with electrical principles.
• Skilled in maneuvering equipment at the job site.
• Ability to communicate and supervise work crew effectively.
• High school diploma with electrical principles training.
• Ability to read electrical schematics.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operates line and service trucks to remove and set poles and dig holes.
• Participates in hanging and connecting transformers and streetlight systems.
• Strings primary and secondary lines and attaches wires.
• Digs trenches for underground lines and pulls wire.
• Operates bucket truck for wiring components and service hookups.
• Trims trees and maintains equipment and transformers.
• Maintains and repairs poles, cross arms, and arresters.
• Assists Public Works as directed by Public Works Director.
