Job summary

5 Star Electric, LLC is seeking an Overhead Distribution Lineman – A Class to join our team. You will perform energized and de-energized line work, read meter data, climb poles, and install/repair distribution equipment.

The role requires four years of experience or equivalent, a valid driver license, Class A CDL with medical card, OSHA 10hr certification, and ability to travel for training or storm work. Safety is paramount and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of experience or equivalent hours.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid State of Residence Driver License is required
• Must have a Valid Class A CDL and current medical examiner card
• Criminal and MVR background checks and pre-employment drug screen required
• Must be able to work outdoors in diverse terrain and in all weather conditions
• OSHA 10hr Safety Training within 60 days of hire
• Completion of formal training or four years verifiable experience including three years of energized work

Responsibilities

• Thorough knowledge of methods, practices and equipment of electrical line work.
• Hazards of electrical work and safety precautions.
• Climb poles and perform strenuous duties in various weather conditions.
• Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively.
• Work with angry or difficult customers.
• Operate listed tools and equipment.
• Read and record data from meter dials.
• Operate service trucks and install/repair transformers and distribution equipment.
• Digs holes and sets poles for lines and strings wire on construction or repairs.
• Report and address safety hazards to foreman.
• Travel as needed for training and storm work
